Heatshield High Performance Mat With Adhesive 450Mm X 450Mm X 1Mm
Keep your cool with our Heatshield Products Heatshield Mat. This heat resistant material is designed to reflect 90 percent of radiant heat when used in applications with 1-inch of airspace and good airflow. To maximize its effectiveness, face the aluminized side towards the source of radiant heat.
This heatshield mat can withstand up to 1,100 degrees F of radiant heat (requires a minimum of 1 inch of airspace) and up to 450 degrees F of direct heat. It is perfect for using underneath your floorpan to shield heat from your DPF, muffler, catalytic converter, and exhaust system. Additionally, it can be used on the firewall to shield engine heat or as a cold-air intake heatshield.
If you want to prevent heat from raising air intake temperatures, simply put this fire resistant mat on your metal or plastic airbox. It is available with a high-temperature peel-and-stick adhesive for easy installation. However, please note that the self-adhesive version is not recommended for rough or unfinished fiberglass or carbon fiber surfaces.
Features:
- Continuous operating reflective temperature of 1100°F, 2000°F intermittent
- Capable of reducing up to 90% of radiant heat
- Adhesive backing sticks to almost any clean surface (not recommended for rough/unfinished fiberglass)
- Helps shield fire walls, hoods, body panels, and floor boards
We strongly recommend rubbing any plastic intakes or air boxes with isopropyl alcohol before applying the product. This ensures proper adhesion and performance.
Heatshield Mat Installation tips:
- Be sure to use a 1" air-gap between HP Heatshield Mat and heat source for best results
- HP Heatshield Mat is intended to be applied on the cold side of the panel or component, i.e. it is not intended for direct contact with the heat source
PRO TIP - Use poster board or butcher paper to make a template. For surfaces with severe bends, it may be necessary to cut relief lines or wedges to get the product to conform. Transfer the template to HP Heatshield Mat and cut accordingly.
