What sets Lava Heat Shield™ apart is its use of basalt, a mineral derived from volcanic rock, which possesses natural chemical and acid-resistant properties. This makes Lava Heat Shield™ highly effective in harsh environments, providing reliable heat protection.
Not only can Lava Shield™ be used on firewalls to shield radiant heat, but it is also ideal for shielding heat in transmission tunnels. With Lava Shield™, you can maintain the carbon fiber aesthetic while benefiting from its exceptional heat barrier functionality. It can be used with less than 1 inch of airspace, although a minimum of 1/2 inch is recommended. Additionally, Lava Shield™ outperforms aluminum and gold barrier fabrics in applications with limited airflow, making it a superior insulator in these conditions.
Lava Shield™ is capable of withstanding direct continuous temperatures of up to 1,200 degrees F and intermittent temperatures of up to 2,000 degrees F. This ensures that it can handle even the most extreme heat conditions with ease.
