The Lava™ Turbo Shield is the ultimate solution for managing heat in turbocharged racing applications. As the first volcanic rock turbo heat shield, it has set the standard for performance, fit, and quality. With its innovative design and advanced materials, this turbo shield reduces turbo lag, protects engine components, and lowers under hood temperatures.
One of the key features of our turbo shields is the use of internal hems. This not only provides additional strength but also gives the shield a cleaner and more professional appearance. Unlike turbo heat shields with external hems, our shields won't fall apart when you remove them from the turbine housing. We have also redesigned the shield to ensure a tighter fit on the turbo housing and larger openings for center housings discharge pipes, making it compatible with the newest generation of high-performance turbochargers.
The outer layer of our Lava Shield material is incredibly rugged, being 25 percent stronger than comparable fiberglass shields. This ensures a longer lifespan for the shield. The Inferno Mat, our silica contact layer, can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 1800°F, providing exceptional heat resistance. Additionally, our exclusive BioCool inner insulation keeps the cold side temperature much cooler compared to OEM metal shields.
Installing the Lava Turbo Heat Shield is a breeze thanks to its precision-fit design. You don't have to trim or fit the heatshield blanket to your turbo housing, saving you time and effort. The shield is compatible with both traditional and v-band turbo compressor housings, making it versatile for various applications.
